The Yellow 24K Golden Backline Shrimp have solid yellow bodies and a golden yellow line on their back and solid yellow legs. and they form part of the Neocaridina Family. The yellow colour of the shrimp is caused by the presence of xanthophores. When kept in an aquarium, they are easily targeted by fish as potential food. Even fish too small to eat them may harass them and stress them to death, sometimes biting off limbs. For best results, breeding should take place in isolation. Small, non-aggressive fish such as the ember tetras, harlequin rasbora, neon tetra, cardinal tetra, dwarf corydoras, otocinclus catfish, dwarf gouramis though these may predate if aggressive, platy or peaceful livebearer relatives like the endler’s livebearer or guppy, and some species of killifish can be kept with adult N. davidi shrimp
