The Gold Ghost Knifefish is an uncommon line bred variation of the Black Ghost Knifefish. It displays a unique gold base color with a variable pattern usually including some dark spotting. Like all knifefish, it is nocturnal and generally shy, using a weak electrical discharge to sense its surroundings and find food. The species originally comes from the Amazon Basin in South America, and can be found in dark waters running from Venezuela right up to the rivers of Paraguay.
